Arte Sano Hotel Only Adults - Near Beach

Arte Sano is an unpretentious small, simple hotel a few steps from the beach down a sandy road. The staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed 5 nights in 2 different rooms. The first night was a small room with a balcony overlooking the quiet street. The other nights were in the top room above the reception desk and it was really nice with a living room and separate bedroom. Both had a small kitchen area with coffee provided and a large bottled water supply. It was nice to have breakfast included on the property. It wasn't the greatest quality but it was sufficient. The location is great as it was near enough to the main town area but was very quiet. The beaches on the other side of town were narrow with lots of seagrass when we were there. Compared to other hotels this was great value for money. Just a note about the beach. It looks idyllic and indeed it is very beautiful, but the sand is hard and damp so you really need a chair to lie on. It's not like the soft sand of Isla Mujeres or the places on the mainland. However, right on the beach down the track there's a small bar called El Sabalo with lots of sunbeds which are free if you buy a drink. The prices are really reasonable so no need to pay for an expensive beach club.

I stayed at Arte Sano during a mum/daughter trip in April and we both loved our stay. The property is easy to reach by walking from the ferry. We arrived late and Victor sent me a virtual guide to the property and our room. Communication was amazing and all staff super friendly. The decorations of the hotel are very pleasant. The little pool is great and there are hammocks put up during the day for relaxing. The hotel is a very short walk from the beach. The location is awesome. There is some seaweed on the beach currently but it’s perfect for swimming nevertheless. There are lots of restaurants in walking distance. We enjoyed the breakfast at the hotel each morning. Pancakes with fruit were our favourite. I would always stay at this place again! It felt very personal and welcoming! Oscar was super helpful for us with tips and information about tours and the island, helping us feel comfortable with our stay! I liked that breakfast was included, though I was hoping for more fruit variety. The room was perfect for what we wanted, expected.

Pleasant and calm stay. The hotel is small and peaceful, very helpful staff. Especially liked to chill in the hanging swing on the balcony.
